A first\u00a0lesson is good for those who doubt if surfing is something one really wants to get into. During the lesson you face the real ocean armed with a real surfboard. So, first of all, you learn personal surfing safety rules. During the theory part, you find out where the waves come from and how to deal with rips and currents, which is quite tricky. Also you put to rest some popular myths about the ocean (are sharks really as dangerous as we think?).<\/p>\n

After the theory is learned, it\u2019s time to practice. If you\u2019re familiar with snowboarding or any other boarding sports, you already know what your leading foot is. But if it’s your first step into the board universe, you can easily identify a leading foot with the aid of your couch. And here the life-changing moment comes! From now on you are a “goofy” or a “regular”. You\u2019ve chosen the red pill and there\u2019s no way back to ordinary life. Congrats!<\/p>\n

Then the coach will show you how to pop up on the board. After practicing for some minutes with board simulators, you\u2019ll surely be able to repeat these unusual movements quite confidently.<\/p>\n

The coach will help you to pick the board that suits your body type. And then the “ocean” part of the lesson begins. On Day One you\u2019ll be practicing in so called \u201cwhite water\u201d (broken waves, in other words). Under the careful supervision of your coach you\u2019ll ride your first broken wave.<\/p>\n

During the Lesson 1 you won\u2019t go into the water deeper than breast deep. So it’s not scary at all.
