Tours to Alcobaça and Nazaré.
Nazaré is a small fishing village, 100 kilometers (about 60 miles) north-east of Lisbon. When in Nazaré, go up the cliff, to the lighthouse and your breath will be taken away by the magnificent view of the incredibly beautiful sand beach and almost transparent turquoise water of the ocean. And for surfers from all over the world Nazaré is a legendary spot – here winter swells bring huge waves that are more than 30 meters (98 foot) high! In 2011 Garrett McNamara made Nazaré famous – it is the spot where he broke the world surfing record with the wave of 24 meters (78 foot) high. In 2013 the wave was registered to reach incredible 30 meters (98 foot)!

Alcobaça.The town main sight is the largest church in Portugal – Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça (Alcobaça Monastery). The Monastery was founded in the 12th century when the first Portuguese King, Afonso Henriques, was getting ready to battle the Moors and he vowed to build a magnificent temple to commemorate his victory. He kept his promise and, having defeated the Moors, started the construction of the church that was finished in the 14th century. The church complex is one of the most splendid examples of Gothic monuments; it consists of five monasteries, seven dormitories, a library, a refectory and an enormous kitchen. The temple inner yard is strikingly beautiful and you can enjoy the view from the balconies. Everything in the monastery – from dormitories to the kitchen – is breathing with the spirit of medieval life.
Right in front of the temple there is a broad square which accentuates the beauty and grandeur of the church façade. All around the square there are cosy coffee shops and small stores where you can buy famous Alcobaça chinaware and ceramics.
Alcobaça and Nazaré tour is 50 € per person.
